I traveled to the Yellow Mountain in the past three days (Aug.4---Aug.6). I returned Shanghai at 10 p.m. yesterday. It was an unforgettable and amazing journey.
I got up at 7: 30 a.m. on Friday. The journey started at 8 a.m. It took us 6 hours to get to the city of the Yellow Mountain. We booked the hotel which stay downtown in advance and we arrived at the hotel at 2:30 p.m. without lunch (We had some biscuits and bread in the car.)
Then we went to the Emerald Valley (It is also called the Lovers’ Valley.) That was a little walk to get to the most beautiful lake in the Emerald Valley. The lake was green like the color of emerald. There was a waterfall upon the lake. The scenic spot was wonderful. After that we came back the four-star hotel.
The next day, we got up at 6 and started the real journey of the Yellow Mountain. The thing happened next was the most horrible. You can choose a way to get to the scenic spot. One is taking the cableway. The other is walking. Which one will you choose? We chose the second way. It was a wrong pick. The roads to the scenic spot were all stairways. It was a long walking which was quite tiring and difficult to go. It took us about 5 hours to finish it. Can you imagine how I felt at that time? Climbing the stairs all the time! Resting about countless times was nearly useless. Maybe the distance was 15 km. However, when we were climbing, it rained heavily suddenly. I was wet like a chicken jumped into a soup. You know, it was cold on the mountain. It was 20 degree centigrade. So I felt a little cold.
In the afternoon, we went to many senic spots… It was fantastic that I walked in the clouds. The feeling of staying with clouds was like the blowing of winds. It was cool and like there was some fog ahead you.
Since it was weekend in summer holiday, the hotels on the top of mountain were full. It was impossible of us to go down the mountain because the cableway was off and it was dark. So, it was the first time for me to sleep in storage of a hotel. There were only two beds among many shoes, sticks, clothes and other things. No bathroom, no TV, no clean floor, no windows… It cost 600 yuan to sleep there, more expensive than sleeping in five-star hotel, I think. What’s more, my thighs ached. I didn’t know how I fallen asleep.
The next morning we continued to climb the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view. Then we took cableway to go down the mountain. In addition, we waited the cableway for 4 hours. Not only because of too much passengers, but also because it thundered for a long time. We finally went down the mountain at 1:40 p.m. and had lunch at 2:30 p.m.
When I was in other places, I became to miss Shanghai. The TV programs of Shanghai, the beautiful night view of Shanghai and the delicious food of Shanghai. All in all, nowhere is better than Shanghai that is my hometown in China, I think.
